Cida representatives visited PMMG's experimental gardens in Marabda

The representative of Civil Development Agency (CIDA) has visited an experimental garden, established in the village of Marabda under the scope of one of the projects by Multinational Georgia (PMMG) in June 14.

The manager of CIDA’s project monitoring, rating and report Rusudan Metreveli has checked planted seedlings and attended the process of planting.

The project, titled ,,The Implementation of Support for Agriculture Through Introduction of Innovative Approaches in Kvemo Kartli’’ foresees planting in pilot gardens of the village Marabda, created by our organization, hybrid and non-hybrid fruits and berries which are still scarce and have growing demand in Georgian and European markets. Imported varieties of fruits and berries are unknown for the Georgian market and are characterized by high productivity.

As it is known, the project of the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia ,,Plant the Future’’ finances 70% of seedlings; however, species not traditional for Georgia are not included in the list.

By the mentioned project ,,Multinational Georgia’’ is trying to contribute to the development of existing list by adding non-traditional, new species of fruits and berries. By the growing sales of mentioned production Georgia will gain big potential in the European market in the future.

Therefore, bringing the mentioned species of fruit trees in Georgian agriculture may be successful for both the domestic and the external market of the country.

,,Multinational Georgia’’ is implementing the project with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
